There are lots of different charities that are working hard to make our world a fairer and better place for everyone.
What steps would you need to think about if you wanted to raise money for charity?
The cause
Find a cause that is important to you.
Here are some examples to get you thinking:
The Idea
Think about lots of different events that could help you raise money.
e.g. hold a bake sale, do a sponsored walk, run a football tournament, organise a car wash, hold a swimathon, etc.
The activity
Choose one event, and work out how much it will cost to make it happen. You will need to consider:
Spread the word
Promote your event. Let people know what's happening and why.
Create posters and flyers telling people when and where your charity fundraising activity will take place.
Hold your event
It’s the day of your fundraising activity.
Make sure you have everything ready and everyone who is helping you knows what they are doing.
You’re doing something great to support a cause that’s important to you.
So remember to have fun too!
Work out your profit and send it to your charity
Count all the money you took on the day of your event.
Now subtract the money you spent to get started.
This is the profit.
Money taken – Money Spent = Your profit
Say Thanks
Say thank you to everyone who helped make your charity fundraising a success!
Let them know that all their hard work will make a difference to your chosen charity.
